Connection-Building Games
Apps that are designed to foster collaboration, open-mindedness and creative problem-solving among diverse groups.
Teaching Maize and Blue
Building on the success of U-M's popular Talking Maize and Blue student-facing learning tool, Teaching Maize and Blue will use a similar format to invite educators to surface disagreement and engage with it productively in their own teaching. This app-based learning tool will introduce instructors to concrete teaching strategies that will enable them to lead challenging conversations with the Michigan PAUSE method.
Audience: Faculty, graduate student instructors, and instructional assistants at the University of Michigan.
Training for Intellectual Empathy, Growth, and Effective Dialogue
Through U-M's Office of Holistic Excellence, this gamified training will be delivered in-person and through online formats. These games may be used by faculty within their courses, at student orientation to prepare students for college-level engagement, and by human resources to train staff. They may be used across the U-M campuses and beyond.
Audience: Ranges from all campus members to U-M employees and/or students.
